Jeremy Priestley trained with a large regional firm before joining the partnership in 1989 and took over as Managing Partner in 1994, since when the practice has grown organically and through diversification. Jeremy is the Managing Director of P&A Receivables Services plc and holds other directorships. He is a member of the Insolvency Practitioners Association and a Fellow of the Association of Business Recovery Professionals. Married, takes a keen interest in charitable work. He is well travelled, enjoys sport and music.
John Russell joined the practice in 1980, and has a background in industry and retailing. He has been a partner since 1986 and specialises in corporate recovery and insolvency, particularly CVA's and liquidations. He enjoys walking, music and is a keen follower of sports in general.
Andy Wood has worked in the profession since 1985 and he joined the firm in 1997 and was made up to partner in 2002. He carries a heavy case load of turnaround and recovery work and specialises in the corporate insolvency sector. He is a Former R3 Regional Chairman. He is a keen cricketer.
Brendan Guilfoyle is a partner at The P&A Partnership and former president of R3, the insolvency trade body. Brendan specialises in sports administrations. He carried out the investigation into the conduct of directors at Leeds United and led the rescues of Luton Town, Crystal Palace, Plymouth Argyle and most recently Bradford Bulls. In his spare time he follows sports generally and family pursuits.
Chris White joined the practice in 1999, having obtained a First Class Honours degree at Sheffield University before qualifying as a Chartered Accountant with a large regional firm. He became a Partner in 2005 and specialises in corporate insolvency, in particular Administrations. He also specialises in Turnaround and Business Recovery, providing advisory services to secured lenders. Chris is a keen follower of sport in general and enjoys travelling.
Derek Simpson joined the firm as our first Scottish partner in September 2010 and manages our Glasgow office, covering the whole of Scotland. He is a Chartered Accountant and licensed Insolvency Practitioner with some 15 years experience of Business Recovery and Insolvency in both Scotland and England, dealing with both corporate and personal cases.
Derek is married and enjoys music and football.
Gareth Rusling joined the firm in 1997 as a qualified ACCA, having trained with South Yorkshire practices and where he gained experience in SME audit and business support. Since joining P&A he has specialised in all aspects of insolvency and recovery work.
Gareth is a lifelong supporter of Leeds United.
Steve Butt joined P&A as a Partner in February 2012 and manages the London office.
Steve has over 20 years’ experience of advising lenders and other stakeholders in distressed businesses across a broad range of sectors and industries. Steve spent 18 months seconded to the High Risk unit of a UK clearing bank, assisting businesses across London as well as Eastern and Southern England, having previously spent time seconded to Corporate Banking and Credit units of the same bank.
Ashleigh Fletcher joined the practice in 1998, and on qualifying as an Insolvency Practitioner in 2008 was made an Associate Partner. A member of the Insolvency Practitioners Association and the Association of Business Recovery Professionals, he specialises in Bankruptcies, Compulsory Liquidations, Individual Voluntary Arrangements & Company Voluntary Arrangements. Married with a son, his interests include Football & Mountain Biking.
