Bankruptcy

A Bankruptcy starts with the presentation of a petition to the Court by a creditor or the individual personally. In certain exceptions the Trustee in Bankruptcy will be appointed and look to sell the Bankrupt’s assets to distribute to creditors. Normally after 12 months the individual will receive his discharge from Bankruptcy and all of the debts are wiped clean, leaving a fresh start.
